Be prepared for anything. Today was supposed to be about reviewing hypothetical journey maps we created with a subject matter expert from the relevant department. Within a matter of minutes, we went from 3 people to 10.
Oddly enough, we remained calm, took control of the room, and were able to confirm our as-is journey map was fairly accurate. It's been 4 days since we started, and we were able to have people from different departments somewhat aligned using the maps.
We also had the client point of contact responsible for allowing so many people to show up go through the plus | delta exercise. They quickly realized what we should do better next time, to ensure people don't waste their time.
Tomorrow is Friday, I'm looking forward to turning off my brain, but I've also realized that once I'm on a project, I can't turn it off. It's all I can think about.
